Author Bio
Hi! I’m a Canadian writer and editor born in Pakistan. I spent my childhood in Saudi Arabia and immigrated to Canada with my family when I was twelve years old. I’ve spent my early adulthood learning what it means to be a woman with a hyphenated identity, and I’ve done it through my writing. I write speculative fiction, book reviews, and contemporary poetry.
I am a recent graduate of Sheridan’s Creative Writing and Publishing program. Currently, I am working as a Poetry Editor for Augur Magazine and as a Publisher’s Representative for Broadview Press. I have previously published book reviews and interviews as the Publishing & Web Intern for The Ampersand Review of Writing & Publishing. In 2021, I was featured on Canada One News for their “Students In A Pandemic” special and published my first chapbook, Sodacan Magazine. Most recently, I won the 2023 winner of Gimma’s Allyship Poetry Contest with the poem, “Your Hand In Mine”. My poetry has also appeared in Serendipity NewsMag and the Clown House Arts Collective.
